Abstracts of original scientific observations and developments in laboratory methodology in the field of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics are invited for presentation at the Society’s 21st Annual Conference to be held at The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, from Wednesday 29th September to Friday 1st October 2010. All abstracts will be subject to peer review organised by the BSHI Research Executive.
Submit an Abstract »
- All abstract information should be submitted via the abstract submission page of the BSHI 2010 website.
- The abstract should be typed using 12pt Times New Roman in MS Office Word, saved to your computer and then uploaded using the Browse button. The main body of the abstract should be no longer than 250 words. It should contain a description of new work. Abstracts which have been presented elsewhere will not be considered, nor will submissions which lack full data, its analysis and interpretation.
- Please include the abstract title, the authors' details (presenting author underlined) and the main body of the abstract in the Word document that you upload. The details should be included as in the example below, with the presenting author underlined and a space between authors and institutions: Download an example abstract here for reference.
- If references are essential, they should be within the text: (Murphy et al., International Journal of Immunogenetics 2009, 24, 30).
- From the drop down list the author must indicate a preference for oral only, poster only, or oral and poster presentations. Abstracts will only be considered for the form of presentation requested.
- From the drop down list the author must also indicate a category from the following list which best describes the subject matter of his/her abstract: Antibody Detection, Comparative MHC, Disease, Immune Responsiveness, Methodology, Molecular and Population Genetics, Transfusion Medicine, Transplantation, Other Aspects of H&I.
- From the drop down list indicate whether the abstract should be considered for the Young Investigator Prize.
- In the Author Information please include the name of the presenting author and a contact email and telephone number.
- A copy of the submitted abstract must also be emailed as an attachment to the following address: conference21@shu.ac.uk, with 'BSHI 2010 abstract' in the subject field. This is to ensure that all submitted abstracts have arrived with the organisers. In the email please indicate whether abstract is for oral, oral/poster or poster consideration, the abstract category and whether it should be considered for the Young Investigator Prize. We apologise for this dual submission system but we are trying to ensure that no abstracts are lost.
Abstracts will be published in International Journal of Immunogenetics.
